BUYING YOUR ‘BLUS

You’ll find OZblu blueberries in some of the biggest and best-known retailers around the world. Simply hop over to our Where to Buy page, pop in your location, and you’ll see where you can grab a punnet near you.

Almost always! Because we grow in multiple regions across the globe — from sunny Southern Africa to South America, and beyond — we can offer fresh OZblu blueberries for most of the year. There are moments when supply is a little lighter, but our network of farms keeps the ‘Blu’ flowing across seasons. To learn more about where we grow, visit Growing Our ‘Blus.

We don’t sell our blueberries directly from our website, but many of our retail partners do. Head to Where to Buy to find your local options.

We naturally breed blueberry plants to have a longer shelf life and with the ability to retain its natural bloom but factors such as the location of the farm and transportation time can affect the shelf life of our blueberries. Due to these varying factors, a ‘best before’ date isn’t applied. We recommend consuming the berries soon after purchase.

Yes! Most of our blueberries are packed in recyclable plastic, and we’re always exploring new ways to make our packaging even kinder to the planet.

Blueberries love the cold. Keep your punnet in the fridge — ideally below 4°C — and only wash them just before you eat them. That way, they’ll keep their signature OZblu crunch for longer.

From a quick snack to a family feast, we’ve got you covered. Our packs range from 4.4 oz (125 g) to 18 oz (510 g) and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit your needs — whether you’re snacking on the go, topping up your breakfast bowl, or sharing with friends and family. Learn more over at Meet Our ‘Blus.

At the moment, we don’t offer coupons or samples directly. The good news? Many of our retailers run their own specials or in-store tastings from time to time — keep an eye out when you’re shopping.

Yes — we do offer an organic range, currently available in the United States, Canada and Japan. If your pack doesn’t say “organic,” it’s our conventional range. Both meet our high standards for taste and quality. Discover more on Meet Our ‘Blus.

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at OZblu. We have rigorous standards for responsible farming — balancing innovation with respect for the environment.

Our approach includes precision agriculture techniques that optimise water use and reduce chemical inputs, protecting soil health and biodiversity. We avoid harmful practices like unnecessary herbicide use and rely on natural plant protections, such as the blueberry’s own bloom, to maintain freshness and reduce waste.

We also invest in ongoing training and development through our OZblu Academy, empowering growers and farm teams with the knowledge and tools to implement best sustainable practices every day.

By focusing on environmental stewardship, ethical labour and community wellbeing, OZblu blueberries are grown with care for the planet — so you can enjoy our berries knowing they’re part of a healthier future.
The berry industry is highly regulated, with strict Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) to protect both consumers and the environment. Blueberries grown to these standards are safe, nutritious, and remain one of the healthiest fruits you can eat — their superfruit status is no accident.

We go even further. Our precision agriculture methods and dedicated quality team ensure farms not only meet but exceed industry requirements. We are audited annually to global food safety, ethical, and environmental standards. Learn more on our Food Safety & Compliance page.

No — not for nutrition. In fertigation (feeding plants through irrigation), we use a carefully balanced blend of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium, tailored to each farm’s soil or substrate and kept at optimal pH levels.

No, we don’t coat our blueberries with Apeel. Blueberries already have a natural protective coating — called the bloom — which helps lock in moisture and extend shelf life.

As a rule, no. Most OZblu blueberries are grown in substrate, where glyphosate would damage the plants. For berries grown in soil, we use weed mats to control weeds, avoiding the need for glyphosate altogether.

Reducing food waste is a key part of our commitment to sustainability. We use advanced precision agriculture techniques to monitor our crops closely, ensuring we harvest blueberries at peak ripeness and quality — which helps minimise waste both in the field and post-harvest.

Eating Your 'Blus

Yes — just like any fresh produce, we recommend giving your blueberries a rinse before eating. But hold off until right before you enjoy them, as washing removes their natural protective coating — called the bloom. This delicate layer helps lock in moisture and keep your berries fresher for longer.

Absolutely! Blueberries freeze beautifully and keep their flavour and nutrition for months.

Here’s how:

1. Wash and gently dry your berries.
2. Spread them in a single layer on a baking tray and freeze until firm.
3. Transfer to an airtight container or freezer bag.

This way, they freeze individually — so you can scoop out just what you need for smoothies, baking or snacking.

Insider tip: Frozen blueberries make an instant “ice cube” for sparkling water or cocktails — they chill your drink and add a sweet burst of flavour.

Yes! One of the joys of blueberries is how easy they are to enjoy. Just give them a quick rinse and they’re ready for snacking, topping your breakfast or adding to lunchboxes.

Keep them in their original ventilated punnet or transfer them to a breathable container lined with paper towel to absorb any extra moisture. Avoid sealing them completely in airtight containers when fresh — they need a little airflow to stay crisp.

Yes! They hold their shape and flavour beautifully in muffins, pies, sauces, salads and even savoury dishes.

Insider tip: For baking, toss your blueberries lightly in flour before adding to batter — it helps them stay evenly distributed.

Not significantly. Freezing preserves most of the antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that make blueberries such a superfruit. Whether fresh or frozen, you’re getting a powerhouse of nutrition.

That’s the natural bloom — a soft, powdery coating that acts like nature’s cling film. It helps protect the berries and keep them fresher for longer. It’s not dirt or residue, and it’s perfectly safe to eat.
